Current ResultsBETHLEHEM, Pa. -- The Fordham men's golf team started the Lehigh Invitational Friday at the par-72 Grace Course at Saucon Valley Country Club. With frost anticipated Saturday morning, a decision was made to play 27 holes today and the final nine holes tomorrow. The Rams shot a 312 over the first 18 holes and sat in sixth place in the 12-team field. Fordham is currently in a tie for third place after shooting a 150 over the first nine holes of the final round. Bucknell shot a 299 to take first round honors, but Saint Peter's is the 27-hole leader.
Sophomore
Matt Schiller fired an even-par 72 in the first round to pace the Rams. Sophomore
James Mongey carded a 5-over-par 77, and freshman
Thomas Hayes was right behind with a 6-over-par 78. Junior
Fernando Morett rounded out the first round with an 85, while sophomore
Joseph Trim's score of 86 did not count towards the team's overall total.
However, Trim fired an even-par 36 to lead Fordham over the first nine holes of the final round. Mongey and Morett both carded 37's, and Schiller and Hayes each posted 40's.
Play will resume Saturday morning at 10 a.m.
