The Atlantic 10 Conference announced its weekly men's soccer award winners and a pair of Rams were among this week's honorees. Sophomore forward
Jannik Loebe (Kierspe, Germany) was named A-10 Co-Player of the Week, while freshman goalkeeper
Rashid Nuhu (Accra, Ghana) was selected as the league's Rookie of the Week.
It is Loebe's first career weekly award and the second of the season for Nuhu.
Loebe netted three goals in two conference road wins last week, helping Fordham to its first 3-0 start in league play since 2009. The
sophomore started the week by capping the Rams' 3-0 win at Davidson with his second goal of the season. Then against Duquesne, he scored just 60 seconds after Duquesne had taken the lead, knotting the game at one. Loebe then scored the game-winning goal eight minutes later for a 2-1 victory. Nuhu was in net for both conference wins for Fordham, improving his record to 5-4-2. The freshman earned his fourth shutout in the last five games at Davidson, making five saves. He also had four stops in a 2-1 win at Duquense. Nuhu lowered his GAA to 1.21 on the year, and his four shutouts are tied for best in the league.
Loebe, Nuhu, and the rest of the men's soccer team will next be in action on Saturday, October 17
th, when the Rams host Saint Louis at 7:30 PM on Jack Coffey Field.
