Results The two-day Terrier Classic, hosted by Boston University, kicked off with a bang on Friday with majority of women's events taking place at the BU Tennis & Track Center.
The Fordham women had a monster day, posting five ECAC qualifying times as well as one school record.
The festivities kicked off with the women's 800 meter run, where senior
Titi Fagade broke her own school record with an ECAC qualifying time of 2:06.56, good for second overall, while being the fifth fastest time in the NCAA this year. Her previous record was 2:07.14, set last year.
Melissa Higgins and
Melanie Notarstefano also were in the 800 meter event with Higgins taking 18
th overall in 2:15.09 and Notarstefano finishing 55
th in a career-best time of 2:20.42.
Mara Lieberman In the 400 meter dash,
Elise Tigani also posted her career-best time, as she clocked in at 59.82 seconds, good for 66
th overall.
The next event was the 500 meter dash, where the Rams had four competitors.
Kristen Stuart and
Danielle Rowe both finished in the top eight with ECAC qualifying times. Stuart was fifth in a career-best time of 1:14.78, while Rowe took seventh in a personal-best time of 1:15.05.
Merissa Wright finished in the top ten, taking tenth overall in a season-best time of 1:16.18, with
Jennifer Boerke ending up 17
th in a personal-best time of 1:18.36.
In the 1,000 meter run,
Mara Lieberman recorded the fourth ECAC qualifying mark of the day for the Rams, as she ran a career-best time of 2:55.74, good for 16
th.
The last individual runner for Fordham was
Brianna Tevnan in the 3,000 meter run. Tevnan, competing for the first time since cross country season, didn't disappoint, posting a career-best time of 10:07.19 for 43
rd place, lowering her best time by over one minute and 40 seconds.
The final event for Fordham on day one was the 4x400 relay, where the group of Rowe, Wright, Fagade, and Stuart just missed breaking the school record with an ECAC qualifying time of 3:47.66, which took fifth overall.
The Terrier Classic concludes on Saturday with the men's competition, as well as the women's distance medley relay.
