Fordham Football Receives National Preseason Rankings

Bronx, N.Y. (July 23, 2014) – The preseason publications have spoken and they all agree that the 2014 Fordham University football squad will be a team to be reckoned with, placing the Rams in the top 15 in three preseason polls.
 
After finishing last year with a 12-2 mark and advancing to the second round of the NCAA FCS Championship, the Rams were ranked ninth in the final Sports Network poll and tenth in the NCAA FCS Coaches Poll, Fordham's highest ever postseason ranking.
 
That success has carried over into the 2014 preseason as Fordham has been ranked by every preseason publication. The Rams are ranked eighth in both the Sporting News and Lindy's polls, and came in at No. 13 in Athlon. The two official national polls, The Sports Network top 25 and FCS Coaches Poll, will be released in August.
 
Fordham opens the 2014 season on Saturday, August 30, when they host the Saint Francis (Pa.) University Red Flash on Jack Coffey Field at 6:00 PM. Season and individual game tickets are available through the Fordham Ticket Office.
