Freshman running back
Chase Edmonds has made an immediate impact for the Rams ground game, setting school marks for most rushing yards (1,630) and rushing touchdowns (22) in a season. The former rushing yards record was 1,596 set by
Carlton Koonce in 2012 while the former rushing touchdowns mark was 20 set by Kirwin Watson in 2003.
Â
As a team, the 2014 Rams have scored 40 points or more in nine games and have scored 550 points on the year, surpassing last year's school record of 526. With Edmonds leading the way, the Rams have also set a new team single season record with 2,184, bettering the former mark of 2,162 set last year.
Â
The 2014 Patriot League title is the culmination of four years of hard work for the Fordham senior class, who went 1-10 as freshmen back in 2011. But
Joe Moorhead was hired as head coach following that season and brought with him a new mindset which the players bought into and the Rams are now reaping the rewards of their diligence, going 23-4 over the past two years with back-to-back NCAA FCS Championship appearances
