Both Programs Honored for the Fifth Straight Academic Year

The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) has announced its Team Academic Award winners for the 2013-14 academic year.  Among those honored were both the Fordham men's and women's soccer teams for the fifth consecutive year.

Fordham was one of 188 schools to have both of its soccer programs receive the Team Academic Award.  A total of 861 collegiate soccer teams (279 men, 582 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the NSCAA Team Academic Award for the 2013-14 academic year.

Among Division I schools on the women's side, Fordham tied for 16th nationally with a team GPA of 3.54, along with UNC Wilmington and Tulsa.  From a conference perspective, 13 of the 14 Atlantic 10 schools were honored.

On the men's side, Fordham was tied for 6th nationally with Duke University among Division I schools with a 3.38 GPA, and was tied for third among private institutions, behind only Dartmouth and Bucknell.  From a conference perspective, six of the 13 Atlantic 10 schools were honored.
