Mayer & Serrapica Named Zipcar Performers of the Month for April

After helping their respective teams right into the thick of this year's Atlantic 10 playoff races, Softball's Lindsay Mayer and Baseball's Joseph Serrapica have been selected as the Zipcar Performers of the Month for April.
 
Mayer was a two-way star for the softball team in April, helping the team to a 14-1 record during the month.  She was a monster at the plate, batting .490 (24-49) with six doubles, a home run and 18 RBI, while posting a .500 on-base percentage and a .673 slugging percentage.  She was named Atlantic 10 Player of the Week once, and recorded seven multi-hit games.  She also drove in at least one run in 12 of the 15 games in April.  Mayer was also a force in the circle, posting a 5-0 record with two saves and a 2.41 ERA.  She struck out 28 batters over 32.0 innings, and held opponents to a .210 batting average.
 
Serrapica served as a senior leader on the mound, as Fordham posted four conference series wins in the month of April.  In seven appearances, he was 2-0 with one save and a 0.95 ERA, while holding opponents to a .208 batting average. In 28.1 innings pitched, he allowed just five runs in April (only three earned) and posted 35 strikeouts to just seven walks.  He capped the month with a career-best eight innings pitched in a shutout win at Massachusetts, where he gave up just three hits and tied a career-high with 10 strikeouts.
