Selmani, just the second head coach in Fordham women's history, just completed his 18th year at Fordham as the Rams finished 5-9-3 overall, 3-4-1 in the Atlantic 10 Conference.

Under Selmani's guidance, the Rams became a major contender for the Atlantic 10 Championship, earning conference championship berths in five of the last 10 seasons.

From 2003-2008, Selmani's Rams reeled off six consecutive winning seasons. In 2003, Fordham placed second in the Atlantic 10 as Selmani was named the 2003 Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year and co-recipient of Fordham's "Iron Major" Award as the school's Coach of the Year.

In 2006, Fordham recorded 14 overall wins, the most in program history, and made its first ever Atlantic 10 Championship game appearance. Selmani was named Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year and Fordham Coach of the Year for the second time.

Fordham advanced to the Atlantic 10 championship game for the second straight season in 2007 and then set a school record with eight conference victories in 2008.

Prior to taking over as head coach for the women's team, Selmani assisted the Fordham men's team for two seasons.

A national search for a replacement will begin immediately.
