Called the finest defensive guard that he ever saw at Fordham by legendary coach Ed Danowski, Tom Mareski was named a first-team guard on the Catholic All-America team for his exploits during the 1949 season. During his senior campaign in 1950, Mareski helped the Rams to an 8-1 mark and copped both the Madow Trophy for being the MVP in the NYU game, and team MVP honors at the end of the season.
