Mazarra was a two-year started on the Ram's defensive line. In 1987, his senior year, Mazzara was the Liberty Conference Defensive Player of the Year, a first team All-ECAC choice, a Pizza Hut All-American, and as second team All-American selection by the Associated Press. A co-captain of the Rams' 10-2 NCAA playoff squad, Mazzara was also District I Academic All-American.
